• County jurisdiction, not city. Don't look for a "Rodeo building department" — it doesn't exist. Everything goes through Martinez. We handle this routinely.
• Two-layer max. Many older Rodeo homes already have two layers, meaning tear-off is mandatory.
• No VHFHSZ. Rodeo itself isn't in a Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zone. Some hillside properties up Rodeo Hills Road may have moderate fire zone designations — we check the CAL FIRE viewer to be sure.
• Rodeo Creek floodplain. Properties adjacent to Rodeo Creek may be in a FEMA floodplain. Not usually an issue for a straight re-roof, but worth knowing.
• Permit fees typically run $300–$500 for a standard re-roof.
